Why we're building Zuza

In 2001, Nathan founded Lexa.nl, one of the first online dating platforms in the Netherlands. He watched up close as online dating grew into a mainstream phenomenon, and how it slowly became something that gets in the way of real connection rather than enabling it.

Today's apps treat love like a catalogue. You're judged on a photo, a split-second decision, an opening line. People worth knowing never get a chance.

We wanted to do things differently.

At Zuza, you start by speaking with a Dating Guide, someone who genuinely listens and builds a profile that reflects who you really are. Not just your age and hobbies, but your character, what you're looking for, and what you bring to the table. Based on that profile, our system matches you discreetly, without you having to search or be visible to everyone.
