You can revoke this consent at any time via your account settings or by contacting us.

Purposes and data

The data used for this purpose includes your first and last name, age, place of residence, photos, education, interests, match preferences, email address and correspondence.
A temporary transcript will be made of the intake interview. In addition, special personal data, such as sexual orientation, religion or philosophy, and the desire to have children, are processed.
Basis and retention period
The basis for this processing is the execution of the agreement. Article 9 (2) (e) applies to special personal data, as it concerns data that the person concerned has apparently made public.
Data is stored until you indicate that you want to delete your account; after a request, the active profile is deleted within 14 days. For technical and security reasons, it can take up to 90 days for data to permanently disappear from all systems. The transcript of the intake interview will be deleted immediately after approval by the Single. Video or audio images are not saved.

Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Audio Transcriptions
In order to provide our Personal Dating services as personal and high-quality as possible, Zuza uses advanced language models (AI/LLMs) to support the Dating Guides.
We use this technology very specifically for the following purposes:
- Preparation for the intake: Structuring and summarizing the data you have pre-filled in so that the Dating Guide can optimally prepare for your conversation.
- Transcript of the intake: Transcribing (converting speech to text) and summarizing your audio intake interview. This helps the Dating Guide write the most accurate and authentic dating profile for you as possible.
Your safety and control come first here:
- Limited recording: Only the official intake interview will be recorded and transcribed (with your prior knowledge). All other (video) conversations, dates or contact moments that take place via the Zuza platform are strictly private and are never recorded, transcribed or “overheard”.
- Human-in-the-loop (No automated decisions): Our AI systems are only supportive. AI algorithms do not make independent decisions about your profile, personality or potential matches. The Dating Guide reviews the AI summaries and always has full, human control.
How does Zuza obtain your personal data?
Zuza has information about you because you provided that information to us.
What are your rights?
Under the European General Data Protection Regulation, you have a number of rights with regard to your data and its processing:
Insight
You can always view your own (personal) details and change them in your account if necessary. If you want to see the personal data that Zuza has recorded about you, you can request access.
Modify
If you want to make changes to the personal information that you have seen as a result of a request for access and that you are unable to change yourself in your account, you can request that Zuza do so. You can request that Zuza change, correct, supplement, delete, or protect your information.
Restricting processing
You also have the right, subject to certain conditions, to request Zuza to restrict the processing of your personal data.
Right to object
If certain processing is based on the “legitimate interest” of Zuza or a third party, you have the right to object to that processing.
Data transfer
You have the right to obtain your personal data from Zuza. Zuza will provide these in a structured and common form, which can easily be opened in other common digital systems. In this way, you can also transfer your data to another provider.
Automated processing
In all cases where a decision about you is made entirely on the basis of automated processing of personal data, you have the right to ask us to have a person reconsider that decision. You can always let us know your position on that decision, or let us know that you disagree with our decision.
Revoke consent
In all cases where the basis for certain data processing is your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent. This has no consequences for the past, but it does mean that we are no longer allowed to process that data. As a result, Zuza may no longer be able to provide you with certain services.
Response by Zuza
A request can be sent to support@zuza.nl. Zuza will comply with your request as soon as possible and in any event no later than one (1) month after Zuza has received such a request. If Zuza rejects your request, we will indicate in our response why the request is rejected.
Recipients of the personal data
Your data will be shared with the person appointed by Zuza Dating Guides for the performance of the service. In addition, profile data (first name) is shared with potential matches within Zuza's private environment. We never sell your information to third parties.
The data can be transferred to:
- Processors
- Parties involved in the execution or fulfillment of an agreement between you and Zuza
- Dating Guides
It is possible that Zuza is obliged to provide your information to a third party, for example under a legal obligation.
International transfer
Zuza strives to process and host personal data within the European Economic Area (EEA) as much as possible. However, for specific functionalities, including scheduling appointments for intakes, we use specialized service providers that may (partly) be located outside the EEA.
In such cases, we ensure an appropriate level of protection by working exclusively with parties that meet the strict requirements of the AVG (GDPR). Zuza has concluded a processing agreement with these parties and uses standard contractual clauses (Standard Contractual Clauses) approved by the European Commission, so that your data is treated with the same care and security even outside European borders.

This Privacy Statement is subject to change. We therefore recommend that you regularly check the Privacy Statement for any changes.
